Bilingual Perinatal Therapist

Early Childhood Mental Health Program is a highly respected non-profit agency that provides mental health services to birthers and their babies in Contra Costa County. We are seeking an experienced perinatal mental health therapist to join our diverse team. We are looking for someone to provide culturally sensitive services to birthers and their babies. The perinatal therapist is responsible for providing direct Perinatal Child Parent Psychotherapy services such as dyadic therapy for birthers and their babies, facilitate support groups, and participation in Community Connections events. Our families face the stress of trauma, migration, domestic and community violence, economic hardship, substance abuse, and perinatal mood disorders, among others.   • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • A Master's degree or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
  • Licensed or license eligible with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
  • Experience working in perinatal, infancy, and early childhood mental health services
  • Working knowledge of child development, trauma, attachment theory, psychodynamic theory
  • Ability to work collaboratively, under pressure, and to meet all documentation and agency productivity requirements
  • Must submit to fingerprinting and be cleared by the California Department of Justice and the FBI for criminal and child abuse background checks.
  • A California driver's license, a working vehicle, and insurance for home visiting

 PREFERRED SKILLS: 

  • Fluency in Portuguese or Arabic
  • Formal training and additional experience in Perinatal Child Parent Psychotherapy and infant mental health practices.
  • Previous experience with infant mental health services and implementation process.
  • Home visiting experience.
