Child & Family Therapist-Solano

Job description Early Childhood Mental Health Program is a highly respected non-profit agency that has been providing mental health services to young children and their families in Contra Costa County for 50 years. We have expanded into Solano County and are seeking an experienced child and family therapist to join our diverse team. We are looking for someone to provide culturally responsive services to families and their children birth to eight, including dyadic therapy, collateral work with caregivers, home-based child-parent therapy, and case management. Our families face the stresses of trauma, migration, domestic and community violence, system involvement, economic hardship, substance use, and perinatal depression, among many others.   • A Masters degree or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
  • Licensed or license-eligible with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
  • At least 5 years’ experience with young children and families.
  • Experience with young children in foster care and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Working knowledge of child development, trauma, attachment theory, psychodynamic theory
  • Ability to work collaboratively, under pressure, and to meet all Medi-Cal documentation and agency productivity requirements
  • A California driver's license, a working vehicle, and insurance for home visiting

 Post Employment Requirements · Must complete an 18 - month Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) training if not yet rostered in CPP. · Must complete Attachment Vitamins (AV) training and facilitate at least one AV group a year. Physical Requirements: Employee must be able to lift a 50-lb. dynamic load; be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, and crouch without physical limitations; and must be able to work effectively in a high noise, rapid paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bilingual
  • Formal training and additional experience in Child Parent Psychotherapy and/or infant-parent psychotherapy.
  • Previous experience with early childhood mental health services and implementation process.
  • Experience home visiting.

 The agency offers competitive salary with an annual language stipend for fluent Spanish speakers. The salary range 70k-75k.
